The Birth of an Idea:
A constant frustration of using the point and click laser distance finder or the aggravation of having to carry a hand held GPS or Laser device or having to drive a cart to the ball, just to get an accurate distance measure is the beginning of Gail Garratt’s vision.The idea for Advisor came to Gail one day while playing a round of golf. Having professional experience with the use of voice recognition technology in consumer products, an exasperated Gail exclaimed, “Let’s make an easy to use golf rangefinder that can simply be asked for information and speak the results .. and call it Advisor !” Over three years of trials and refinements, plus the input of experts from Ireland, Britain, India the United States and Asia, the Advisor became a reality.
The Advisor is designed with sophisiticated electronics which provide a GPS Golf Information System which will enable the golfer to instantly recieve distances to green and all other course features and hazards. Advisor has been developed to be worn unobtrusively on a golfers headgear, lapel, pocket or belt or mounted on a golf cart. Controlled completely by Speaker Independent Voice Recognition, this allows the golfer to get complete yardage data to green front/center/back, bunkers, fairway, water edges, distances over water and many other capabilities.
A simple to operate single button puts the Advisor into listen mode ready to receive various user spoken commands. Using state of the art sophisticated Speaker Independent Voice Recognition, the Advisor responds with yardage information or other helpful details as requested.
Courses may be conveniently searched and downloaded to the hat by using Advisor's course access website by hooking the device to a PC with the supplied USB cable.
